Perth is the main driver of Western Australia’s economy. Mining accounts for 30% of WA’s GSP, followed by business and property services (9%) and construction (8%).
WA’s involvement in the global market is also evident with merchandise exports contributing to more than half of the state’s GSP (58%). As the global market continues to open up, it is likely that the growing economy will keep step with the population increase on Australia’s west coast.
